SEA Swim Teams Make a Splash at Wigan Life Centre

Congratulations to our SEA Junior and Intermediate Swim Teams, who represented the school brilliantly at the recent swimming competition at Wigan Life Centre.

SEA joined 36 other schools from across the North West for an exciting evening of competitive swimming. Each team competed in both the 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay and the 4 x 50m Medley Relay, with our students showing fantastic commitment, determination and teamwork throughout.

A special mention goes to our Year 8 students, Olivia and Anna, who stepped up at the last minute to cover an injury in the Intermediate team. Both produced exceptional swims and showed great maturity and team spirit.
Our Junior Boys – Noel, Peter, Aaron and Isaac – and Junior Girls – Skyler, Leona, Olivia and Anna – both finished comfortably in the middle of a very competitive field, gaining valuable experience and showing plenty of promise for future competitions.

There were some fantastic individual moments throughout the evening. Isaac was a brilliant source of encouragement from the shallow end, cheering on his teammates and reassuring them before their races. Leona produced a strong swim in the 50m breaststroke, while Skyler completed her very first racing dive from the blocks, following expert coaching from Alivia.

The Intermediate team also secured a top-three finish, an excellent achievement in such a competitive field. The team was led superbly by captain Esme, whose leadership and encouragement helped bring everyone together.
It was a pleasure to spend the evening with such a polite, supportive and enthusiastic group of students. Their teamwork and commitment to one another was second to none and was a real credit to SEA.

A huge thank you to Mr Cutter, Mr Morrison and Mrs Weigh for their help with commentating, timekeeping and marshalling, and to all the supporters who came along to cheer the teams on. Your support was greatly appreciated.

And finally, it seems that Noel is already planning the hats and T-shirts for next year! We look forward to seeing what the SEA Swim Team can achieve next.
Well done to everyone involved – what a fantastic team effort!
