Staff vs Year 11 Charity Tag Rugby Match
There was plenty of excitement on the field as staff at St Edmund Arrowsmith took on Year 11 students in the annual Charity Tag Rugby Match on the students’ final day before GCSE study leave began.
The much-anticipated tradition, organised each year by Mr Burgess, once again brought together students and staff for an afternoon of fun, competition and fundraising for charity.
Year 11 were determined to finish their school days in style, but the staff team fought hard throughout the match. Special praise goes to the “Man of Steel”, Mr Halliwell, who led by example and put in a standout performance for the teachers’ side.
In a thrilling and closely contested game, the staff eventually edged victory with a dramatic 7–6 win over Year 11.
The event was a fantastic way for students to celebrate the end of their time in school before beginning preparations for their GCSE examinations, while also raising money for charity.
